Associate Director of Community Development

The Associate Director of Community Development is responsible for the management and coordination of various fundraising programs, activities and donor relations.  Through a commitment to the mission and values of the University this position is responsible for planning, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of constituents, including but not limited to: University trustees, community members, businesses and civic organizations, faculty, staff and students of Schreiner University residing mainly in the immediate Kerrville area.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.  Preference to psychology, English, or sociology majors.

  • At least three years of successful work experience in a related field including fund raising, public relations, direct marketing and/or sales.  Direct personal solicitation experience required.

  • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills.

  • Experience in a higher education environment is desired.

  • Well organized, systematic thinker.

  • Ability to travel overnight when necessary.  Ability to work weekends and evenings.

  • The ability to work with and motivate a broad spectrum of people including board members, entrepreneurs, professionals, executives, advisors, students, volunteers, faculty and staff members.

  • Knowledge of the techniques and tools available for individual prospect research.

  • Familiarity with the literature of the development field.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Knowledge of database management software such as Raiser’s Edge is desired.

Full-time, exempt staff position

Security Officer - Part Time
8 – 16 hours per week with Rotating Shifts on weekends (days, evenings, nights) and nights during the week.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a responsible, non-supervisory position.  Duties include patrolling an assigned area, generally by vehicle, to prevent crime, enforce laws, field routine complaints and take appropriate action on such complaints.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Prior security experience with general knowledge of security laws and regulations

  • Possess the ability to write a complete and legible report.

  • Ability to lift minimum 25 lbs and in certain situations have the ability to exert physical activity in the event of disturbances, etc.  Meet physical requirements of the position to carry out duties.

  • Ability to complete a satisfactory background check

  • Successfully pass the Level One exam of the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Securities Act. (Provided by the University)

  • Work well with all constituents.

Learning Support Services Program Aide
Schreiner University accepts employment applications on a continual basis for program aides. Program aides may be responsible for assisting with alternative testing as a monitor, reader or scribe. When assisting with alternative testing, the aide will report to LSS in a timely manner as scheduled and will conform to LSS Testing Policies and Procedures with special attention being paid to maintaining security of tests.

  • Ability to accomplish all tasks independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member toward the common goal of the University.

Library Systems/Web Services Librarian
This position is responsible for the oversight of the library’s systems and web-based services. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, participating in the planning, development, and management of a broad range of library electronic services such as managing the library automation system (Voyager); assisting in the design and maintenance of the library web presence, creating appropriate online research instruction, and moving library services into the Web 2.0 environment. In addition, all librarians are expected to handle subject-area collection development and to serve in regular reference rotation, sporadically including nights and weekends.

  • MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited program

  • Experience with system administration of an integrated online system (Voyager preferred)

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to insure that departmental goals are met

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of current trends in library systems and services

  • Ability to provide effective reference and research assistance

  • Ability and flexibility to work in a changing environment and within several areas of library services and operations.

Full-time, exempt 12-month position

Salary range $35,000 to $40,000
