Tutors
Tutors are needed to assist students in the subject areas of Algebra and Introductory Chemistry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, using skills, knowledge, and personality to provide learning assistance to learning disabled students in order to give them the help and support they need to be successful at Schreiner University.

Groundskeeper
Perform entry-level work in caring for grounds or public buildings.

  • Completion of high school is generally preferred.  Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

  • Experience in groundskeeping and maintenance work.

  • Required to possess a valid Class C Drivers License issued by the State of Texas, and proof of insurance.

  • Ability to perform on call duties.

  • Knowledge of the planting and care of trees, shrubbery, flowers, and grass.

  • Skill in the use of grounds keeping hand tools and equipment.

  • Skill in the operation of motorized and gas operated equipment such as tractors, mowers, edgers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, self-propelled sweeper/vacuums, and paint striping machines.

  • Skill in the repair and maintenance of parking lots.

  • Ability to maintain and care for hand and power tools and equipment used in grounds keeping and gardening.

Assistant Athletic Trainer
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the prevention, evaluation, treatment and management of athletic injuries; documentation and maintenance of athlete medical records; coverage of intercollegiate practices and competitions; travel as necessary; and other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Qualifications include:

Graduation from an accredited undergraduate Athletic Training program
Licensure by the Texas Department of Health (or license eligible)
Preferred certification by the NATABOC
Ability to work extended hours; nights, weekends and holidays
First Aid, CPR and AED certifications
Experience with men's and women's athletics preferred.

Associate Director of Development for Annual Giving
Responsible for the management and coordination of various fundraising programs, activities and donor relations.  Through a commitment to the mission and values of the University, this position will build relationships and raise funds from various constituents, including but not limited to: former students, community members, businesses and civic organizations, faculty, staff and students of Schreiner University.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • At least two years of successful work experience in a related field, including fund raising, public relations, direct marketing and/or sales.

  • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills.

  • Experience in a higher education environment is desired.

  • Experience in fundraising and/or public relations and media relations.

  • Well organized, systematic thinker.

  • Ability to travel overnight when necessary.  Ability to work weekends and evenings.

  • The ability to work with and motivate a broad spectrum of people, including board members, entrepreneurs, professionals, executives, advisors, students, volunteers, faculty and staff members.

  • Knowledge of the techniques and tools available for individual prospect research.

Director of Church Relations
The Church Relations Director, under the guidance of the Vice President for Advancement and Public Affairs, acts as the university’s liaison with the governing bodies, officers and members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) with primary focus in the Synod of the Sun.  The director will also build relationships with “local” churches of other denominations.

  • BA Degree (preferably MA or MDiv).  Ordained status is desirable.

Director of Human Resources
Design and deliver human resource (HR) programs, practices, and processes that meet the needs of the University and its employees.  Design, implement, and oversee all phases of human resources activities including recruitment of faculty and staff, employee relations, benefits and compensation design and administration, employee orientation programs, staff performance evaluation programs, training, legal compliance, payroll, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 7-10 years plus of generalist knowledge of personnel procedures, systems and benefits.

  • 3 years experience handling complex employee relation situations.

  • Professional of Human Resource Certification (PHR) required. SPHR preferred.

  • Non-profit, private, higher education background preferred. 

  • Overall knowledge of personnel laws, ability to research and audit for legal compliance.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups, leadership experience, committee participation and campus activity participation.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills.

  • Ability to accomplish all tasks independently and with very minimal supervision.

  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of HRIS/Payroll systems.

FACULTY POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Vocational Nursing Instructor
This full-time position requires an RN with a current Texas license and at least 3 years of strong medical/surgical experience. The successful candidate must be capable of performing classroom and clinical teaching for student vocational nurses.

Information Systems
This position requires a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.  The successful candidate should be capable of teaching a variety of undergraduate courses in several of the following areas:  general information systems courses, systems analysis and design, databases (Microsoft SQL Server and Access), VB Net, Web programming and networking.  Preference will be given to those candidates that have ability to contribute to the overall direction of the management information systems program.  Industry and teaching experience desired.  Teaching in the university’s interdisciplinary core is also expected.  Teaching is the University’s primary mission.  Scholarly activity, student advising, and service to the University and community are also expected.  The teaching load is 12 hours per semester.
  

Adjunct Faculty

Schreiner University is seeking applicants for the following part-time openings: Exercise Science, English, Information Systems, Communication and Mathematics. Educational requirement is a master's degree with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline. Classes taught would be entry-level, with a 3 to 6+ hour teaching load and a semester by semester contract. Salary is $800 per semester hour taught.
